The installation The souvenir of faith, appropriates that religious icon, to subject it to an alteration of collective belief, in a popular religious iconographic representation violated by the terror and misfortune infused in Peru in the decade of the eighties and nineties. Situations that were catastrophic for Peruvian society, and how these have shown that faith in an object cannot give us the credibility that we will be safe and free from any danger. The intention of this appropriation is derived to believe that that popular religious object will not be able to prevent and protect us from situations that in many cases are unavoidable, whether due to social, political, military or intentional reasons.
